We're back with holistic health expert and best-selling author, Dr. Mindy Pelz, who's counting down the top five things she says are making us fat. The time has come, it's time for the news, what is the number one thing that's making us fat? This is one we have all fallen prey to and it's the thought that, it's a myth when you think eating six small meals a day is going to help you lose weight. There is no evidence of this. In fact, we do better, the new research is showing, you want to have spaces in between your meal to reset your metabolism to actually speed your metabolism up and let me tell you how this works.
So when you eat, what happens is your blood sugar comes up. You need time for your body to let that blood sugar come down before you have another meal. As it's coming down, go ahead and need again. It goes back up and those are resets in those moments of pausing in between meals is gonna allow your metabolism to reset. If you're eating all day long, you never get that reset and that extra blood sugar is going to be stored as fat. Now, one other really interesting thing that is emerging is they're showing if you eat three meals a day within an eight to 10 hour window of time, so like 10 in the morning till about six o'clock at night and you eat three solid meals, that that is the best way to process this blood sugar and speed your metabolism up. So, no more six meals a day, it's a myth. It doesn't help you lose weight. And Dr. Mindy with the formula that you're giving us, three meals spaced from, let's say mid morning to early evening for your final meal, you're also incorporating a little intermittent fasting, which some studies also show will help us in maintaining the right weight.
